08 Jun YouTube Seeks to Junk Kid’s Privacy Lawsuit
A new legal filing by YouTube sought to dismiss a case brought by the parents of a young user who was allegedly tracked by Google for ad-targeting.
The search giant gave several reasons, and pointed out that they did not engage in such a conduct that would violate California’s privacy law. Google said that those who wish to sue has to prove that the company had engaged in an “egregious breach of social norms”.
Furthermore, Google says that the case should be junked on the grounds that the parents of the child involved did not allege that they or their child were injured as a result of the tracking.
