09 May Wendy’s Philippines Alerts Affected Users of Breach
Fast food chain Wendy’s Philippines informed its customers and site users of its data breach via sms this week after an intervention by the National Privacy Commission.
The NPC estimates that some 82,150 records had been affected, and personal information such as names, email addresses, contact numbers, addresses, and resumes had been posted by culprits online. The Commission also questioned the company as to why it did not alert its users within 72 hours of the breach’s discovery last April 23.
