UK Privacy Watchdog Begins Funding of Research for Data Privacy Tools

UK’s Information Commissioner’s Office recently announced the first projects that will be funded by the ICO Grants Programme which was launched in June 2017.

The projects will be focusing on tools for children’s online privacy, medical data sharing, and the protection of pseudonymised data and personal information rights in the financial sector.

ICO deputy commissioner Steve Wood revealed that the chosen projects offer innovative solutions to key privacy challenges.

The programme is set to name more grant recipients in 2018.
