08 Nov UK ICO: Facebook Treated Voters With Disrespect
UK Information Commissioner Elizabeth Denham said this week that Facebook and other entities involved in the Cambridge Analytica scandal had disrespected the personal data of British voters and called on CEO Mark Zuckerberg to appear before MPs.
Denham expressed in her investigation that she thought it critical to have direct access to executives at Facebook’s Mountain View offices.
Denham had been pushing for a new regulatory model to combat online misinformation and offensive user-generated content and was quoted saying that “The time for self-regulation is over. That ship has sailed.”
