UK Fashion Brands Breach Affect 1.4 Million People

It was recently disclosed that the personal information of around 1.4 million individuals had been exposed by a security breach that involved a number of clothing and accessories retailers in the UK.

Security researchers warn that the customers of brands such as Jaded London, AX Paris, Elle Belle Attire, Perfect Handbags, DLSB (Dirty Little Style Bitch), and Traffic People are likely to be affected.

NuData Security VP Ryan Wilk said that while no payment data was exposed, the personally identifiable information that had been accessed can easily be used for synthetic identity fraud and identity theft.

Meanwhile, Lee Munson of Comparitech said that it would be interesting to see if the companies will be able to comply with the ICO and the General Data Protection Regulation, given their lack of communication with their customers after the incident.
