11 Dec UAE Residents Warned to Disable Message Preview on Mobile Devices
A warning was recently issued by the Telecommunications Regulatory Authority (TRA) advising UAE residents to turn off the message preview feature on their phones as it is may cause privacy risks.
The feature shows a portion of the message, including the name of the sender, as a pop up on the home screen while the device is locked.
The TRA pointed out that message previews may allow fraudsters to see sensitive information and hack people’s WhatsApp and bank accounts.
