10 Jan UAE Residents Still Willing to Share Data Despite Cyber Threats
KPMG global chair of consumer and retail, Willy Kruh said in an interview this week that consumers in UAE seem to be more comfortable sharing their personal data with companies compared to the global average.
This is despite losing a total of $1.1 billion (Dh4.04bn) in cybercrimes including data thefts in 2017 alone. However, 78 percent of UAE consumers still say that they are willing to share their data with retailers and other institutions, in contrast to more than 50 percent of global consumers who have expressed anxiety about identity theft, including hacking of financial, medical or other personal information.
