23 Nov TUV Rheinland Offers Privacy Certificate Program
Yesterday, international testing service provider TUV Rheinland announced a new suite of services aimed at fulfilling data protection requirements of the IoT market. This includes a first-of-a-kind “Protected Privacy Certificate” program which manufacturers and providers can use as proof of compliance to the EU GDPR.
Solutions director Günter Martin revealed that their vetting process focuses on privacy protection characteristics of the IoT product, and as much as 50 different parameters can be tested according to the requirements of the EU GDPR.
Meanwhile, Global Competence Center for IoT Privacy Head Udo Scalla said that the certificates should establish trust in the IoT market for both consumers and manufacturers.
