22 Mar Travel Website Orbitz May Have Been Breached
Orbitz, popular travel fare aggregator, recently disclosed that it may have been hit by a breach that could compromise the information of thousands of customers.
The Expedia-owned company says that information on 880,000 credit cards may have been exposed from an older platform where names, payment card information, dates of birth, email addresses, physical billing addresses, gender, and phone numbers may have been accessed in between October to December 2017, and information submitted from partner platforms such as Amex Travel between January 1, 2016 to December 22, 2017.
Orbitz says that it has already worked with law enforcement and cybersecurity firms to address the issue, and that their main website had not been compromised.
