13 Jan Toronto’s Smart City Project Hold Privacy as Utmost Concern
At the most recent Technicity event in Toronto, Sidewalk Labs head of engineering Craig Nevill-Manning explained why the Quay Side neighborhood was the best location for the project.
Nevill-Manning said that the incredible diversity of the city, the technological prowess, entrepreneurism and innovation made Toronto the ideal location where they could re-imagine cities from the ground up. He mentioned that the idea of “privacy by design” also originated from the Canadian province.
Nevill-Manning added that they are also excited to work with former Information and Privacy Commissioner Ann Cavoukian, who is based in Toronto.
