Timehop Breach Now Affecting 21 Million Users

Timehop, a social media content service, recently announced that it had been hit by a breach last July 4 that may now affect the data of as much as 21 million users.

The company had already alerted users and said that it has voided all social media authorisation tokens it held. However, usernames, email addresses, and social media tokens had already been leaked, with 4.7 million phone numbers scooped up in the process.

The forensic report determined that not having two-factor authentication contributed significantly to the vulnerability of the organization.
