Thousands of Student Personal Data Involved in S. Washington Co. Breach

It was reported earlier this week that an employee had accidentally sent a mass email containing the personal data of thousands of South Washington County School District students.

Sensitive information including names, ID numbers, phone numbers, e-mails, mailing addresses, bus routes, as well as pickup and drop-off times and locations of roughly around 9600 students were sent out.

School district superintendent Keith Jacobus has already issued an apology to the affected families and has also requested them to delete the attachment.

This is the second data breach the school district has had this year. The first one occurred in February and involved a student hacking into their servers.
