31 Aug Thousands of Air Canada Mobile App Users Hit by Breach
Air Canada confirmed yesterday that around 20,000 of its mobile app users may have had their personal data accessed by an unauthorized party.
The airline said that the unusual login activity occurred in between August 22 to 24 where the hacker may have had access to information such as the owner’s name, email address, and telephone number.
However, in an official statement, Air Canada said that credit card information, as well as accounts on aircanada.com were unaffected.
Air Canada had already locked some 1.7 million mobile app accounts and advised users to follow the instructions next time they log in to reactivate their accounts.
