Thousands of FedEx Customer Records Exposed

Thousands of FedEx Customer Records Exposed

Researchers at Kromtech Security Center recently divulged that FedEx has left a legacy server unprotected, exposing the private information of thousands of customers exposed.

The server was said to have been managed by Bongo International, which was bought by FedEx in 2014. The service was shut down in 2015, but customer records including identification such as driver’s license and passport information were left in the unsecured server.

The records were mostly from customers in the US, and a smaller portion from Asia, Australia, Europe, and the Middle East. The server had been secured Tuesday after Kromtech contacted FedEx about the issue.
