11 Jul Thomas Cook Data Breach Compromises Names, Flight Details
Travel company Thomas Cook recently told the media that it had been hit by a breach which may have exposed sensitive customer details such as names, email addresses, and flight details of customers.
The vulnerability was discovered by Norwegian security researcher Roy Solberg, who reported the findings to the company. The issue has already been fixed and the company revealed that fewer than 100 booking had been accessed.
The company added that the evidence they collected showed that the limited volume and nature of the data that was accessed does not warrant a report to be sent to the authorities, and it is for the same reasons that they have not contacted the customers affected.
