11 Jul Tendulkar Called Out On Twitter for Web Security Issue
Indian cricket star Sachin Tendulkar was called out on Monday after posting a tweet that asked people to share the phone numbers of their friends.
Tendulkar tweeted: “Have friends with many excuses to not get fit? Tag them using #NoExcuses with their cities & mobile no & I may call to give them a pep talk!”
The tweet was part of a brand promotion for IDBI life insurance. The company sponsored marathons across the country to help promote fitness.
Australian web security expert Troy Hunt cheekily tweeted a reply – “How do you mine troves of phone numbers from Indians? Get a famous cricketer to politely ask people to dox their friends! #NoExcuses”.
Tendulkar later deleted the tweet after being schooled on the web security issue.
