08 Dec Tech Industry Association Hits Back at EU Watchdogs Over Privacy Shield Report
Last Wednesday, tech lobby group DigitalEurope issued a response to EU privacy regulators, saying that the Commission was “mistaken in its assessment” of the EU-US privacy shield pact and criticized them for acting like “disinterested observers”.
The group’s director, Cecilia Bonefeld-Dahl, rebuked the regulators and called on them to join the US in improving the implementation and enforcement of the agreement.
The EU regulators recently threatened to take legal action if the US government does not implement changes that it had requested on data protection safeguards by May 2018.
