13 Nov Strict Privacy Rules Crippling Mergers, New Study Says
According to a new research by Merrill Corporation, compliance with EU’s new data protection rules has become a significant obstacle to mergers and acquisitions.
More than half of the experts polled for the study said that potential buyers frequently cite concerns over target companies’ compliance with data and privacy protection rules when backing out of deals.
Additionally, 66 percent said that the GDPR has introduced further complications since acquirers’ are now increasingly scrutinous of target companies’ data protection policies and processes.
