Startup Raises $13 Million for Privacy-Conscious NAS Device

San Jose-based startup Latticework recently raised $13 million from Tyche Partners and individual strategic investors, and will soon be launching a smart storage platform with AI features called Amber.

Amber is a network-attached storage device (NAS) which uses techniques like identity management and data routing verification to protect personal data. Latticework also only collects personal information necessary for two-factor authentication and baseline file-sharing functionality.

CEO Pantas Sutardja says that the device will allow users to store data locally, but available at a moment’s notice anywhere in the world.
