Software Engineer Releases Beta of Privacy-Focused Smartphone OS

Software engineer Gaël Duval recently blogged the release of the privacy-focused smartphone OS that he had had been working on since 2017.

Duval, who also created Mandrake Linux, says that his “eelo” project aims to produce a “degoogled” mobile OS that is both privacy-centered and easy to use by non-technophiles. The newly released beta version now features a new user interface, new default applications that include Signal and Telegram, OTA system updates, and an account manager.
