Snap CEO Evan Spiegel took some shots at Facebook this week when he said in his speech at Recode’s Code Conference that the social network should also copy Snap’s data protection practices.
Spiegel has been a longtime critic of Facebook and has been accusing the company of copying Snap’s features. In his speech, he also said that there was no evidence of Russian manipulation of SnapChat, and Facebook is a place where users are constantly competing with their friends for attention.
He also heavily criticized Mark Zuckerberg for saying that he could not have anticipated such privacy issues when he started Facebook in his Harvard dorm room. Spiegel said privacy is really important for snap and that they cared about data protection from the very start.
