Singapore Hackathon Puts Strong Focus on Data Protection by Design

It was announced this week that this year’s Singapore’s TechLaw.Fest Hackathon, which will bring legal professionals, software developers, and designers to create out-of-the-box solutions, will be having its focus on ‘Data protection by design’.

Launched by Singapore’s Personal Data Protection Commission and the Singapore Academy of Law, the world’s biggest legal hackathon will be taking an approach where the protection of personal data is considered from the earliest possible design stage and throughout the operational life cycle of the new system, process, product or service.

The hackathon challenges will look into 100 legal industry problem statements and four data protection problem statements as basis for the challenges.
