02 Nov Samsung’s Android Browser May Offer Better Privacy Than Chrome
Tech website Lifehacker recently wrote that Samsung’s new smartphone browser may offer one significant feature that will give it a privacy-focused advantage over Chrome.
The Samsung Internet App, which will be made available to all Android phones running Version 5 and up, will have an ad tracking blocker built-in. The feature will prevent websites from tracking the user’s internet activity, which is often used by companies to create targeted ads. However, it can also be used for more malicious purposes.
In other browsers such as Safari, online tracking is merely limited. In Chrome, it is blocked only in Incognito mode. In Samsung’s Internet browser, online tracking is blocked by default in Secret Mode, but can also be set to permanently block even in regular browsing mode.
