14 Dec Rhode Island Sues Google for Breach
Google was reportedly sued by a Rhode Island government hours after the firm announced an API leak affecting its Google + social network.
The class-action lawsuit, which was filed by the Employees Retirement System of Rhode Island (ERSRI) in a California court this week, accused Google of intentionally misleading shareholders and federal regulators by failing to disclose its Google+ data leaks in due time.
On the matter of Google’s second disclosure which may affect the personal data of over 52.5 million users, the ERSRI is saying that the search giant’s recent string of leaks and supposedly late disclosure dates have harmed the company’s stock value, incurring losses to investors.
