Researchers Unveil Monero-Style Privacy for Ethereum

Researchers Rebekah Mercer and Sarah Meiklejohn unveiled this week at the the Privacy Enhancing Technologies Symposium (PETS) in Barcelona a technique called Mobius that uses mixing solutions to obscure the payment information of ether transactions.

The researchers said that Mobius addresses the trade-offs of privacy tech as it will employ Monero-style tooling that conceals sender and receiver addresses, but in a way that is cryptographically trustless.

Even then, Mobius transactions will only cost a little more than a standard ethereum transaction, which is around $0.06, and will only take mere milliseconds to execute.
