Report Says Dark-Web Cyber Criminals Prefer to Use Discord

A recent report from cybersecurity provider IntSights revealed that the Discord app is the most popular chat service among Dark Web users.

Telegram comes in as the second most popular communications app, according to the recorded data on IM invites shared on Dark Web cyber-crime platforms.

IntSights researchers noted that it was surprising how popular Discord became considering that it does not support end-to-end encryption, which makes it vulnerable to data requests from law enforcement.

However, Discord doesn’t even get mentioned in a similar report from FlashPoint. Nevertheless, tech website Bleeping Computer notes that there are a number of points where the two reports coincide, particularly regarding the recent spike in ICQ’s popularity.
