11 Aug PSA Seeks to Enroll 25M Filipinos Into Nat’l ID System per Year
The Philippine Statistics Authority said this week that it is targeting to enroll 25 million Filipinos into the national ID system per year once the program gets fully rolled out next year.
National Statistician and Civil Registrar General Dr. Lisa Grace Bersales said that the PhilSystem Policy and Coordination Council (PSPCC) will be convening on August 15 to discuss the timeline of the implementation and the draft implementing rules and regulations (IRR) which may be finalized within two months. She added that the PSA will be working with the DICT and NPC to finalize the design of the ICT system.
Bersales also estimated that the entire population will be enrolled within three to five years.
