22 Sep Privacy Group Launches Online Resource for the Public
The Electronic Frontier Foundation (EFF), a non-profit, online rights group, has recently published a resource called Surveillance Self-Defence, which is aimed at fostering safer online communications.
The site is divided into three parts: tutorials, briefings, and overviews. A good place to start for beginners is the overview that discusses encryption and meta data and what they do. It also includes tips on safeguarding your data, generating strong passwords, and initiating risk assessment.
The resource also offers tutorials to help users set up Pretty Good Privacy (PGP) encryption for email to prevent cybercriminals, government, or companies from snooping or spying in your mailbox.
