13 Feb Polisis App to Use AI to Understand Privacy Policies for Users
Last week, researchers at Switzerland’s Federal Institute of Technology at Lausanne (EPFL), the University of Wisconsin and the University of Michigan said that they will be releasing an app which is capable of processing privacy policy legalese for the benefit of normal users.
The website and browser extension is called Polisis, which is short for “privacy policy analysis”. According to the researchers, Polisis can extract a readable summary and tell the users what kind of data a service collects and where it is sent, and if a user can opt not to share his data. The software also has a chatbot called Pribot that the user can ask questions regarding the privacy policy.
