16 Oct Police Body Cams Pose Hacking Risk, UK Commissioner Warns
UK’s surveillance camera commissioner Tony Porter recently warned that the body cameras worn by British police could be a target for hackers wanting access to police database.
Porter added that there is no standard for the way the police purchase and deploy the equipment, and he is also not aware of security testing which the Data Protection Impact Assessment (DPIA) rules deem to be increasingly relevant.
The commissioner is reportedly talking to surveillance devices manufacturers to create a gold standard for the industry.
