15 Jan PH Lawmakers Call for Probe Into Passport Data Breach
Senate Minority Leader Franklin Drilon and senators Bam Aquino, Koko Pimentel, Risa Hontiveros and Panfilo Lacson called for an investigation into the reported breach of passport data at the Department of Foreign Affairs.
It was revealed last week on Twitter by Foreign Affairs Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. that a privately contracted firm took the entire physical database containing the data of all Philippine passport holders after its contract was not renewed.
Sen. Drilon said the Department of Justice, Commission on Audit, and the National Privacy Commission should conduct the investigation.
