05 Nov Personal Information of Rich Moscow Residents Leaked by Telecom Company
A Moscow-based internet provider had reportedly leaked the personal data of some of Moscow’s wealthiest residents.
Viktor Vekselberg, the billionaire businessman who owns Akado Telecom, said that he will be opening an inquiry into the incident.
Aleksei Semenyaka, communications director of RIPE NCC, said that Akado Telecom may have uploaded the data to their database. Companies such as Akado are responsible for uploading the data to the not-for-profit European internet registry, but it should not identify individual customers by name or other personal information.
