27 Jan Personal Data of 200,000 Malaysian Organ Donors Leaked
Popular Malaysian tech website Lowyat.net recently reported that the personal information of as much as 200,000 Malaysian organ donors are now publicly available online due to a breach.
Commissioner for the Personal Data Protection Department Khalidah Mohd Darus issued an official statement and said that the agency is already looking into it. However, this is now the second major data breach incident in the country within just a few months, and no arrests have yet been made in relations to the first investigation.
Inspector-General of Police Mohamad Fuzi Harun, on the other hand, said that the revelation is a bit suspicious since the source of the report of the leak for the first breach is also Lowyat.net.
