Parental Spy App Leaks 281 Gigabytes Worth of Children’s Photos

Family Orbit, a company that sells surveillance software for parents, was recently exposed by an unnamed hacker as having inadequate security on its cloud servers where it keeps the photos of its customers’ kids.

The hacker, who according to Motherboard is the same one who hacked Retina-X’s servers, said that he was able to access the photos of kids being monitored by Family Orbit’s software, as well as other developer passwords and secrets.

The company admitted the breach and said that they immediately changed their API key and login credentials, and suspended sales and services all vulnerabilities are fixed.
