27 Sep Palace Promises to Limit Redactions on SALN
Manila, Philippines – Malacañang Palace promised on Tuesday that redaction will be avoided in the Statements of Assets, Liabilities, and Networth (SALN) of officials from the cabinet, unless sensitive information that requires protection is involved.
Ernesto Abella, the Presidential Spokesperson reported to the public that cabinet appointees will now be unable to withhold information on their net worth, liabilities, and liabilities in the next release of their SALNs.
Ivy Patdum Deputy Commissioner of the National Privacy Commission (NPC) said in the same press conference that data on the wealth of government officials should not be withheld except for sensitive information that may risk the public officials and their families.
