18 Jan Over 87GB Worth of Emails, Passwords Dumped Online
Security researcher Troy Hunt revealed this week that he had found a collection containing around 773 million email addresses and 22 million passwords hosted on Mega.nz.
Hunt said in a blog post that he even saw his own personal data in the dump, including an email address and password he used many years ago. He warned that those included in the breach may likely see one or more of their passwords made public in the leaked data.
Hunt said that the data dump, dubbed “Collection#1”, had been referenced on a hacking forum as a collection of 2000+ dehashed databases and Combos stored by topic’ and a directory listing of 2,890 of the files.
