No Passport Data Leaked So Far, DFA Secretary Says

DFA Secretary Teodoro Locsin Jr. said this week that they have not heard of any leaks yet in relation to the passport data that had allegedly been breached.

Locsin said that there is a possibility that the data is already hopelessly corrupted and inaccessible. He added that such an incident won’t be allowed to happen again, and passport data cannot be kept back by private entities since it poses a national security risk.

The secretary previously revealed that the previous contractor took all the data after its contract was not renewed, and the government did not take action on it.
