Nigerian Airline Leaks Customer Data Including Credit Card Information

New research published by Justin Paine, Head of Trust & Safety at Cloudflare, revealed that Nigerian airline Arik Air may have leaked the sensitive data of its customers kept in an unsecured Amazon S3 bucket.

Paine says that the airline might have leaked its own data inadvertently, or one of its payment processors may have been responsible for the unsecured bucket.

The leaky bucket, which was discovered in September 6, contained 994 CSV files, with some of the data points included customer names, email addresses, IPs registered at the time of purchases, and the hashes of credit cards used.
