New Study Says Half of Web Apps Put User Data at Risk

A new study by Positive Technologies says that around half of web applications put user data at risk and all have at least one vulnerability.

According to the company’s Web Applications for Statistics report, attackers can steal personal data from as high as 44% apps that handle information, including those for bank websites, e-commerce stores, and telecommunications companies.

The researchers also revealed that 52% contained high-severity vulnerabilities, and around 17% had vulnerabilities that would allow the attacker to take full control.
