New Security Tool for G Suite Aims to Protect Sensitive Data from Third Party Apps

Google released a new tool for G Suite called OAuth apps last Thursday. The company says that the new feature can help admins better protect their group from malicious apps attempting to access their data.

In their blogpost, Google revealed that OAuth works by whitelisting applications. When an app is whitelisted, users have the ability to allow or restrict its access to their organizations G Suite Data. This lowers the risk of users accidentally allowing applications access their data.

Users can expect the new feature to arrive on their G Suite Admin Console in the next few days. More information on the new feature is available here
