23 Aug New Privacy Report Says Companies Reliant on Consumer Data at Higher Risk
A new report from Cornerstone Capital Group (CCG) and commissioned by the Investor Research Responsibility Center Institute (IRRCi) suggests that companies that rely highly on consumer data are at risk should the public grow concerned about data privacy.
IRRCi executive director Jon Lukomnik commented that due to recent data scandals and increasing level of concern around data privacy issues, investors have become wary about how companies will evolve their business strategies that rely on consumer data.
Meanwhile, Cornerstone’s head of research and corporate governance John Wilson said that investors have to see how well a company’s governance is positioned to manage changing norms, expectations and regulations that may affect data access, stakeholder trust and company strategy.
