30 Dec New Paypal Phishing Scheme Targets User’s Personal Data
The Devon & Cornwall Police Cyber Protect Team recently tweeted a warning against a phishing email campaign which sends out legitimate-looking emails pretending to be from Paypal.
The email, which uses an authentic-looking Paypal logo, tells the user that his account has been flagged for suspicious activity. The links contained in the email, however, lead to a phishing site created by hackers to steal the user’s login credentials.
Security experts advise users to always verify the domain of the sender and not to immediately click on email links. They also suggested monitoring one’s bank account regularly for suspicious activity.
