09 Nov New End-to-End Encrypted Messaging App Wire Promises to Provide Solutions for Businesses
A new messaging app called Wire is offering end-to-end encrypted services focused on business users who need to protect their business chats and IoT messages.
The app is one of the only two which were name-checked by Edward Snowden. The other app, Signal, can only be used if the user has a telephone number. Wire is also compliant with European data protection laws, and uses servers based in Ireland and Frankfurt.
The app also has a ‘Teams’ version where admins can add and remove participants and assign specific rules. An enterprise version is also being planned where business can host their own versions of the software.
