New Apple Privacy Measure to Limit Facebook, Google Tracking

An advertising agency executive said this week that Apple’s new privacy controls will put companies like Facebook and Google in a “precarious place” as it will significantly limit the ways users are tracked online.

The move is expected to make it more difficult for advertisers to target ads better as it will also block their ability to see how many individual users are clicking on links or what kinds of users are looking at ads.

It is said that Apple will also limit “fingerprinting,” which tells companies which device is visiting a website, and add higher level protections against third parties wanting to access information on a user’s contacts, photos, calendars and reminders.
