NASA Reveals Data Breach, Employee Information Compromised

NASA revealed this week that it had been hacked earlier this year and the private information of former and current employees had been compromised.

In an internal memo, NASA told its staff that on October 23, it had discovered that an unknown intruder was able to access to one of its servers that had the personal data, such as Social Security numbers, of employees.

However, the agency did not say why it waited two whole months to disclose the breach. However, it is common for US law enforcement to ask breached organizations to delay notifying affected victims while the incident is being investigated.
