NADPOP to Award Philippine Champions of Data Privacy

The National Association of Data Protection Officers of the Philippines (Nadpop) will be recognizing exceptional organizations that champion of data privacy in the country in the First Data Privacy Awards.

The ‘Datos Privados’ award will be given to individuals and institutions that have shown outstanding qualities in service, leadership, excellence, and innovation in data privacy protection.

At a recent press briefing in Makati City, NADPOP founding president Sam Jacoba said that the organization, which seeks to empower DPOs, would like to inspire others with the best practices of those have complied with the law and became more competitive.

Nominations to the Datos Privados Awards were started on November 19, to be officially launched on December 6 during NADPOP’s Year-End event. Last day of acceptance of nominations will be on Jan. 18, 2019, while the awards night which will highlight the 1st NADPOP Data Privacy Conference will be on Jan. 29, 2019.
