15 Nov Mozilla Releases New Privacy Report on Popular Gift Gadgets
Mozilla released this week a privacy report that evaluated the security standards and privacy policies of 70 popular gift gadgets for this year.
The report said that only 25 of the gadgets met Mozilla’s minimum security standards, with the Nintendo Switch the Harry Potter Kano coding kit, and the Mycroft Mark 1 smart speaker.
Meanwhile, Mozilla said that the privacy policies of the Playstation 4 and Apple’s Airpods were not clear, and the XBox had one point deducted for unexpected data sharing.
At the bottom of the list was Google Home and Amazon’s Echo which may listen in on conversations, track users, and share data with third parties.
