More Users Switching from Android to iPhone, New Survey Shows

A new survey conducted by the Consumer Intelligence Research Partners (CIRP) right after the launch of the new iPhones- the iPhone XR, the iPhone XS and the iPhone XS Max in the US showed that more consumers seem to be switching to the iPhone from the Android, mostly due to privacy reasons.

It was pointed out that Apple and Google had found themselves on the opposite side of the line on the issue of data privacy this year. While Apple had made a number of statements in support of privacy and resisted pressure from governments to put a backdoor on its devices, Google had been engaged in a number of legal battles with data regulators in the EU and Australia.

The difference between statements from both company’s leadership had been quite noticeable. While Apple CEO Tim Cook considers privacy a basic human right, Google CEO Sundar Pichai, says that Android users have a ‘good understanding’ of the amount of data the search company collects on them.
