18 Jan Millions of Call, SMS Logs Leaked by VOIP Provider
Cloudflare’s Director of Trust & Safety, Justin Paine, revealed this month that he had found an improperly secured ElasticSearch database belonging to California provider VOIPO which exposed millions of call and SMS logs, as well as internal system credentials online.
Paine said that the 6.7 million documents that he found also contained partial original and destination numbers, timestamps, and call duration details, as well as six million SMS and MMS logs dating back to 2015, including both timestamps and the content of messages.
Additionally, around two million log documents referenced hostnames, plaintext usernames and passwords, and API keys for internal systems which may have been exposed since June 2018.
