Microsoft Promises GDPR Rights to All Users

Microsoft announced earlier this week that it will be extending the EU’s new privacy rules to all of its users around the world.

This will mean that all users, regardless of location, will have new Data Subject Rights, such as the right to obtain data a company has collected, and to request the deletion of data if the user no longer consents to a company holding it. All Microsoft users will also be able to take data to another service provider, and to know how a company is processing their data.

The company’s privacy statement had already been updated with new language required by GDPR. Microsoft also says that customers can withdraw the consent that they have previously given to the company at any time.
